So, I’m leaving. I won’t be posting anything, anywhere for at least thirteen weeks. Where am I going where I won’t have computer access? United States Marine Corps boot camp. Yep. I’ll be back at the end of February 2012, assuming I pass my IST (Initial Strength Test) and I’m not injured at some point. Until then I’ll be without a computer, a phone, or contact with the outside world besides handwritten letters.

While I’m gone, please try not to leave me too many messages or anything like that, because I won’t be able to respond until I get back. haha

Anyways, I won’t be able to post any more of my fan fiction or read any more of any fan fictions I’m currently reading, so I’m very sorry. :/

I’ll miss you all dearly and I’ll see you when I get back!

“Hopefully the roads will clear up and I’ll be able to get all my stuff,” Toby said. He was recording his lazy vlog, using a nearly dead flashlight we had found to light up his face. “And hopefully the power comes back on, or we’ll be blind as soon as my battery runs out.” The phone really needed to be charged so he was trying to make the lazy vlog short so he wouldn’t use up all the battery life. “What do I mean by ‘we’?” he asked, looking over at me.

“Oh no,” I said under my breath. While he walked around the room I had been sitting on his bed so that no one would see me in the video.

“I have a girl staying in my house,” he said, grinning excitedly. “She’s from the Audience. Let’s go talk to her.” He sat next to me on the bed and adjusted the camera and flashlight so that we both appeared on the little screen. “This is Holly,” he told the Audience. “She got drunk and-“

“I did not!” I protested, but he ignored me.

“-so my mom kidnapped her and gave her to me for Christmas.”

“That’s not true either!” I laughed.

“I’m pretty sure that’s how it happened,” he said, nodding.

“You are such a liar!” I exclaimed. “I wasn’t drunk, I was sick! And your mom was just helping me.”

“Shh, shh, shh,” he said, putting his finger on my lips. “It’s more interesting in my version.” He turned his attention back to the Audience and told them, “So, she’s gonna be living with me now.”

“Until the roads clear up,” I added.

“Forever!” he corrected. “Don’t listen to her. She’s drunk.”

I laughed. “I can’t be! All we have is Pop-Tarts!”

We were in the middle of watching a movie on Netflix when there was a power outage.

“Hey,” Toby yelled as the room went pitch black. “I was trying to watch that!” I grasped his arm tightly. “Are you okay?” he asked concernedly.

I nodded, but then realized that he couldn’t see me. “I- yeah,” I said. “I’m just a little scared of the dark.”

“It’s okay,” he said, pulling me into a hug. “There’s nothing to be afraid of. It’s just the beginning of the intro of darkness then redness then whiteness.”

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Toby always made me feel better. “But there’s no redness or whiteness,” I pointed out.

“That happens sometimes,” he shrugged.

Fortunately for me, I had recently posted several things that actually had nothing to do with Toby. Unfortunately, Toby didn’t stop reading after the first few posts. About halfway down the first page was a GIF of him, lying down, with his eyes blinking open. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but the title of the post was, ‘It would be so amazing to wake up next to this.’

“Well, was it?” he asked cheekily, looking down at my scarlet colored face.

“Let’s go to a different website,” I mumbled.

He just laughed and scrolled further down the page. The next post he found about himself was a reblogged GIF taken from the end of the BlackBoxTV episode he’d been in. His face was all bloody and he was walking towards the camera, looking incredibly attractive, in my opinion. The original poster apparently agreed, because she had captioned the photo, ‘hothothothothot.’ The comment I had added to the photo was much worse: something along the lines of, ‘Ow, my ovaries just exploded! Toby, stop being so damn attractive.’

“Your ovaries, really?” he asked. “Sorry about that.”

“This is getting really awkward,” I said.

“Nah, this is fun,” he grinned. “Just let me look at a few more.”

I’m posting so many at once because I have so many pre-written. Also, Starting on Sunday, I won’t be able to post ANYTHING for thirteen weeks… .

When I woke up, I was very warm and content and I never wanted to move. Toby’s strong arms were still around me, but I had apparently turned in the night, because I was facing him and my palms were resting on his chest. My head was tucked under his chin and I was curled up against him. I wished time would just freeze so I could stay there forever. Judging by the faintness of the light coming through the window, it was still very early in the morning, so I snuggled closer and went back to sleep.

 

The second time I awoke, Toby was up as well. He was stroking my hair softly with the tips of his fingers. I lay still, hoping he wouldn’t stop, but he looked down and saw that my eyes were open. I smiled up at him drowsily. He was too adorable to describe with his hair all messed up like it was.

“Good mornin’,” he said to me. “Did you sleep well?”

I nodded. “Much better after moving in here,” I said.

“See, I knew I should have made you take the bed in the first place,” he said.

“But then you would have slept on the couch and it wouldn’t have made any difference,” I pointed out.

He grinned. “Ohh, so you liked sleeping with me, not sleeping in the bed.”

The entire day was great. We had basically just talked most of the day, eating more Pop-Tarts when we got hungry. Toby went to take a shower when it started getting dark, so I watched the videos he’d posted for the day while he was gone. I also took that time to make myself calm down. I actually managed to get my heart beating at a regular pace when Toby walked back into the room.

His hair was wet and drops of water were falling onto his bare chest. It took me a few seconds to realize that I was staring, openmouthed, at him. I closed my mouth and looked away quickly. He was wearing his jeans, but his t-shirt was in his hand. I wondered for a moment why he wasn’t wearing it, not that I minded.

“My freakin’ shirt got wet,” he said. “I knew I should have brought more than one.” He crossed the room and went down the hall to the laundry room. I heard the dryer start and then he came back and sat next to me.

“So, you don’t have any other shirts?” I asked.

“Oh, does this bother you?” He stood up.

“Not at all,” I said quickly. Then I realized what I’d said and looked away. “I just mean - um …”

“Really?” he said, grinning down at me.

“I didn’t- I’m just- Oh God.”

I was completely speechless. If I could have said words, they probably wouldn’t have been intelligible anyways. Toby Turner should not have been in Georgia; it didn’t make sense. But there he was, wearing a green ‘Tobuscus’ shirt and an adorable smile.

“I’m asleeping,” I said. “Asleep. Sleeping. Something. Dreaming… . I’m an idiot.” Toby walked toward me and I’m pretty sure I stopped breathing for several seconds. I’m just wearing a towel, I thought, embarrassed. “My clothes are in the washer,” I said quickly, holding onto the towel very tightly.

“Oh, sorry,” Toby said, covering his eyes. “I’ll, uh, get you something else to wear.” He turned and walked back up the hall. “I’m Toby, by the way,” he said.

“I know,” I said. “I mean, it’s nice to meet you.”

It was really dark and my mind was blurred. I wasn’t drunk; I hadn’t taken even a sip of anything for the whole night. Parties weren’t normally my thing, but I’d had nothing else to do when I’d been invited. My family had gone on vacation and wouldn’t be back until Sunday, so Lana insisted that I stop by her house. I spotted her across the room and made my way towards her.

“Lana,” I said, tugging on her sleeve to get her attention. She looked over. “I’m gonna head out, okay? I don’t feel good.”

“Aww,” she groaned. “Do you need a ride? I can get someone to drive you home.”

“That’s alright,” I said, not trusting most of the party-goers. “I’ll walk. I need the fresh air.”

“Don’t get mugged!” she warned.

“I have my Tobuscus hoodie to protect me,” I said, tugging on the front of my sweatshirt.

“Yeah,” she said, glancing from her short, sequined dress to my jeans and hoodie. “Maybe next time there’s a party you should wear nicer clothes.”

“Hey, this is the best article of clothing I own.”
